Over 5000 pageviews after 6 months?... Does that mean that in another 6 months I'll have my 10,000 pageviews? ! Lots of thanks to all who took the time to see my work. Yes, my little comic is still on its way. I am running out of time so I have to move fast...

Now, here is an update on what I have been doing for the past few days...

I went to the Singapore Toy & Comic Convention with my friends, including . Despite the crowded conditions, I got to see all kinds of cool stuff, including the booths of the Imaginary Friends Studios, and . I had over $50 with me but I didn't buy a single thing that was on sale. ! Maybe it was a goddamn waste but I simply wasn't in a spending mood. Feel free to nag at me about it...

Cosfest VII: [link]

Neo Version 7 went to COSFEST 7: Super Henshin!. I absolutely had no regrets coming on both days. only came on the first day and came on both days to sell artwork. Maybe someday, my own stuff would be worth a few cents. Moneeeeeey! !

My Aikido kohai, also went to the event on both days. On the first day, he cosplayed as an Engineer from TF2. He had a real steel wrench with him the whole time and a lot of people were surprised that he did so. Luckily, no skulls have been bashed. !

On the second day, he cosplayed as Optimus Prime. As expected, he attracted a lot of attention. I cosplayed as well! That's right... I cosplayed as Luffy from One Piece, complete with my very own Straw Hat with a string attached so that I won't lose it. So if you were there and happen to see a scrawny Luffy running about... THAT'S ME!

Although my Autobot friend had an impressive costume, there were 2 obvious flaws. One of them was that he had to walk very slowly because of the way he designed his legs. Another flaw was that although he had the ability to transform into Vehicle Mode, the process itself was a little complicated and long. I was the only person who could help him transform so I had to do it. Luffy had to help Optimus Prime walk around and transform. Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. Also, he got OWNED by a Gundam Cosplayer and an Iron Man cosplayer. Everyone else really enjoyed watching the both of us struggle with the transformation process. You know who you are... !

My decision to cosplay as Luffy was perfectly timed. I didn't cosplay on the first day and I saw 2 Luffy cosplayers. That was more than enough competition for me. ! I was the only Luffy cosplayer on the second day. In fact, I was the only One Piece cosplayer around on that day. Seriously, I feel that One Piece is not getting enough attention here in Singapore and I hope that someday that will change. Sure, anyone could read the manga or watch the anime. What about One Piece fanart? I didn't get to see all of the artist booths so I'm not sure if any of the artists had One Piece fanart for sale. Oh well...

The best part of Cosfest VII was the finale. Every cosplayer was invited to do the Caramelldansen on stage! Most of them, including myself, went up and danced energetically as several cameras took photos and videos of all of us. It was so fun, we did it TWICE. Before the finale, I also joined in a Cosplayer Train and I ran around in circles with other cosplayers. I had sore feet at the end of the day but still no regrets... !

Another thing I would like to mention is that during both days, there were special Graffiti Walls for anyone to draw on. Needless to say, I couldn't resist... I had to make my artistic presence known...


On the first day, I drew Feo. She was in a very bad mood because of all the attention the other drawings were getting. Poor girl... D:

Some of the cosplayers and I had so much fun, we did not want everything to end. We did more dances until the event staff had to shut down all the lights to drive us off. LULZ!

Also, I was fortunate to meet Anonymous on the first day. Although he had Epic Fail at one point, he was quite entertaining. Most of us lost THE GAME as well...

Luffy Cosplaying, Slowpoke Optimus Prime, Random Drawings, Cosplayer Train, Mass Caramelldansen... Lots of fun from start to finish. ! One important thing I'd like to say was that although my Luffy Cosplay was not one of the best, I still had so much fun that I simply didn't care. I didn't care if people thought that I failed as Luffy. I didn't care if people thought that I failed at Caramelldansen. I felt alive again when I was doing those things so if you are one of those people who think that I failed horribly and should not cosplay again, you can go get bent. I came to have a good time and I had it. It's as simple as that...


Whew, this is quite a long entry! Since I haven't updated this journal in over a month I suppose this entry should make up for it. Maybe I should make a blog of my own so that it would never be this long again... !


On a seemingly related note, I'm learning to wear Contact Lenses... This is to prepare me for my NS, which is creeping closer with every passing minute. Did you know that someone DIED several weeks ago while he was doing his NS?... !
